范文二:
a habit is any action that we have performed so often that it becomes almost an involuntary response people spend countless hours and dollars each year attempting to break these bad habits and often do not have any success change is hard work and there is no short cut to achieving it to effect a change in habits, one needs to bring the action back into the realm of consciousness and regain the ability to make choices in other words, what's the payoff for doing this seemingly negative thing? since you've already classified this as a "bad" habit you may be tempted to say there isn't one there is always a payoff what's in it for you? you let off some steam and feel a little better for the moment what is it that you are losing by exercising your habit? this step should be easier yelling at your kids is a bad habit because it leaves everybody feeling tense and tears down your children's self-esteem leaving the dishes undone is a bad habit because your kitchen is a smelly mess when you look at it that way it doesn't seem like you are making very wise choices, does it? there has to be a better way it's no longer an involuntary act because now you know that you are making a choice every time you perform this action which do you value more? do you value more the relief you get by yelling at your kids or do you value their emotional well-being? do you value more having more internet time or having a pleasant place to live?
substituting better behaviors.
the whole reason you formed your habits in the first place is that they filled a need as you break the old patterns you still need a way to fulfill these needs instead of yelling at your kids you might decide to go for a run every time you are feeling tense what the new habit is that you substitute isn't so important as whether you feel good about the choices you have made
it's up to you each time you begin to resume your old patterns the thought will pass through your mind that you are trading x for y each time you perform that action what choices will you make? the one that makes you feel bad about yourself or the one that makes you feel good? it's up to you.
范文三:
the bar chart clearly shows the situation of outdoor activities of both chinese and american college students. to be specific, the number of american and chinese college students who attend outdoor activities several times a year is fairly large, but the number of students attending once a month, once a week or once a day is falling gradually. meanwhile, for the students taking part in outdoor activities several times a year, there are more chinese than americans, but in the other three cases, there are much fewer chinese.
why should this phenomenon take placethere are two factors accounting for it. to start with, the students’ poor sense of health makes them neglect the physical exercise, so a large number of students take outdoor activities just out of their interest. in addition, the reason why american students do more exercises than chinese students may be that chinese students’ workload is relatively heavy. facing the pressure of schoolwork, they have to study harder and have no time to do sports.
from what has been discussed above, i hold that we should enhance our awareness of health and take practical actions to take part in more outdoor activities.
范文四:
the music form that strikes me most is classic music.the term
“classical music”can be used in a broad and a narrow sense. generalized classical music refers to western classical music, which is created under the background of the european mainstream culture from the middle ages to now in the west.it’s different from the popular music and folk music because of its complex creative skills and the profound significance it carries.narrow sense refers to classicism music, which is the european mainstream music for a period of time from 1750 to 1820.the most famous composers of this music style are haydn, mozart and beethoven.
?for elise》is one of the master work of beethoven, which was the souvenir beethoven gave to miss elise. people like to called it “trivial music”, but this song condensed beethoven’s strong creative ideas that reflected his individual style and his unique creative thinking. although 《for elise》is music work of only more than 3 minutes, it is also a concentrated body of beethoven’s music creation.
however, there is another kind of classic music in china, which almost come from the book of songs. the book of songs was born in the late of chinese slave society, also the beginning of the ancient chinese poetry. now, some singers such as jay and xu song created many popular songs including a lot of classic ingredients those are the most attractive place of those songs.
范文五:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I'm writing to you to state my view on the water pollution problem. It is generally accepted that water pollution is a serious public hazard today. Rivers all over the world are becoming polluted with garbage and dangerous chemicals. Ships contribute to the problem because they rely on rivers for disposing of wastes. Oil and other chemicals can kill fish and make water unsafe for drinking. Because they rely on rivers for disposing of wastes. Oil and other chemicals can kill fish and make water unsafe for drinking. In a word, polluted water is a big problem to everyone.
As you know, people depend on water to live on. They should be involved in finding a solution to this problem. I think, certain counter measures need to be taken as soon as possible. To begin with, the governments of all countries are supposed to formulate rules and regulations to deal with the pollution problem. In addition, factories in towns and cities must be prohibited from draining waste liquids into rivers before they are totally treated and purified. I feel if they violate relevant rules or laws, they should be fined heavily. Certainly, there are some other cures which are worth adopting.
As far as future prospect is concerned, I am sure that good results will be achieved in this respect. Rivers which used to be contaminated by industrial wastes will be cleaned and fish which could not live there a few years ago will be again. To conclude, it seems obvious that tomorrow will be better and brighter only if everyone does his part and tries hard to seek solutions for its control.
If any further comment on the issue is required, please don't hesitate to write to me.
Thanks.
Yours sincerely
